After coordinating with the participants, the former employers NatWest Markets Plc and NatWest Markets N.V. have collaborated with the Interest Group in submitting a transition plan to Centraal Beheer APF. The intended transition date is 1 July 2027.

The Future Pensions Act was passed in 2023. A plan is necessary for the transition to a new pension scheme. This transition plan describes the choices made for the new pension scheme and the reasons behind those choices. You can view the transitieplan (pdf, in Dutch) here.

The transition plan is being reviewed

Centraal Beheer APF is checking to ensure that the new pension scheme described in the transition plan is feasible. We are also investigating whether the effects of switching to the new pension scheme will be fair (‘balanced’) for all groups and ages of participants. The intended transition date of 1 July 2026 specified in the transition plan appears not to be feasible. The intended transition date has therefore been postponed until 1 July 2027.

The outcome of this review will be recorded in the implementation plan. We are also preparing a communication plan. Once these plans are complete, we will post them on the Kring RBS page.

The implementation plan

This plan describes how we are going to implement the new rules. The plan will be submitted to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). DNB has to approve this plan before we can implement it.

The communication plan

This plan describes what we will do to keep you fully informed about the changes in a timely way. This includes the channels we will use, such as letters and e-mails. The plan will be submitted to the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The AFM will check that the plan is clear and complete.
