Message from the Participants council RBS section to all former members and pensioners of RBS section
To date you have received communication from the board of the Centraal Beheer APF as a participant of RBS section at Centraal Beheer APF (Centraal Beheer APF). As of the date of the merger, 1 March 2017, they have been responsible for achieving the formulated goal: a good pension for everyone. And that is a good pension for now and the future and one that everyone understands well because of clear communication.
Next to the board of the Centraal Beheer APF, there is a participants council for RBS section (BO Kring RBS), which has the role of advising the board of the Centraal Beheer APF and giving its approval to forthcoming changes, for example changes to the articles of association, pension agreements and the investment policy.
On 1 March 2018 a new participants council was chosen for the RBS section, which now consists of 7 members. We are very pleased with the big turnout of voters in bringing out their votes concluding the participants council elections of last December 2017. What has the participants council RBS section done over the past year?
A large part of the work of the participants council has been to assess the overall execution of the merger of the RBS pensionfund with Centraal Beheer APF, which took place on 1 March 2017. But also the issuance of advice on the necessary adjustments to the pension scheme, the articles of association and evaluated how the interest rate risk at Centraal Beheer APF and in particular within our group is covered. The recommendations issued have been considered and implemented to a large extent. The financial position of the RBS section is very strong and the coverage ratio has even slightly improved in 2017. As of February 1, 2018, the policy coverage ratio stands at 153%. As a result, it was again possible to increase the pensions en the pension entitlements with the inflation for 2017.
The focal points for the near future for the participants council for RBS section are largely focused on the further improvement and clarification of the communication of the Centraal Beheer APF to you as a former member and pensioner. We also keep a keen interest on the internal organization of the Centraal Beheer APF and of course on the investments of our pension capital.
In June, the annual report for 2017 of the Centraal Beheer APF will be published and it will include the report of the Board and a comment of the participants council for the RBS section.
